look carefully to see why the pin wont come out.. but if the threads are where its sticking, then yes... apply lots of heat around the pin threads on the bolster mount. Its gonna take a rosebud and some time to get the housing hot all around... Early 3000s had a smaller pin that later models, so take that into account when ordering parts.
 
I had the issue also on mine. Wasted a day with heating and 8' long cheater bar. I ended up having to take the front support off and chopping out the pin with a bandsaw and had to cut the pin inside of the arm lengthwise and working it out that way so I didn't mess up the threads. Hope you have better luck then I did.
