600 lift getting weak

Pump gets prime right a way, lift works but has gotten weaker, will not pick up a roll of hay and used to. Seems to hold a load fairly well while engine
is running.Suggestions?

Could be that your piston rings in the cylinder are getting wore, to confirm this lift a heavy load up and cut then engine off, if it sinks then there’s a leak somewhere

It has the oring and backer washer on the piston. I'm thinking it may be a relief valve but do not know which.

It could possible be both, see my 640 needs the piston seals replaced because the lift sinks down and then comes right back up to were it was, it only sinks about a inch or two, I also run 90wf fear oil for the hydraulics so that’s slows the leak down a little bit, no one has been in the hydraulic compartment for 20 or so years, so I’m sure it needs some work in there. But it’s not mine it’s my fathers, but one day she’ll be mine and I’ll pour the love to her.
