I tore this tractor apart 18 months ago.
After that long you don't exactly remember how some things went together.
I tried putting this console back together about a month ago. Couldn't figure it out. All I accomplished was to scratch my paint. Frustrating!
A couple of weeks ago I tried it again.
Same deal. It would not go back together.
I haven't touched the tractor since.
There are about a dozen pieces to this thing and about 20 bolts - not including the handles.
This morning I woke up at 3 am. First thing on my mind was this console.
I didn't even take time to drink my coffee but brought it with me to the garage and got to it.
The times before I had installed the pedistal for the seat first. This time I took the pedistal back off and assembled the rest of the console first. Then I put the pedistal back on.
It worked. Took about 3 hours of experimenting but it worked.
Funny how sometimes you can let a problem soak in the subconscious for a while and the answer will come.
I will need to touch up the paint in a few spots but am happy with how it looks.

I had a welding instructor that always said.... thats why we have a coke machine, Walk away get a coke then try again...

My diesel Mech instructor said... Dont let the steel beat you, but you may need to go have a smoke break... But i dont smoke, I dont care, just walk away get a drink have a smoke just do something and clear your head!!

Nice to see you got it together...

When we going to get to see pics of it completed??

That's the beauty of a project tractor... you can walk away for a while if you need to... it's not a "need it now" situation.
Hoping to see finished pictures soon!
