Ford TW-5 II stuck clutch

I have a TW5 II with a stuck clutch. I have tried to free the clutch by
running it and hitting the breaks. It acts funny when I do this. I can
have the tractor in 1-4th gear. Hold the brakes with parking break
also set and the tractor will lug down and stop but won’t die. I’m
pretty sure I’m going to have to split the tractor or sell it. Anyone
know why the tractor won’t die. Also the pto runs all the time.
Thoughts?

Sounds like you have multiple issues going on inside. If the clutch is indeed stuck, then you should be able to kill the engine with the brakes. This makes me think maybe the dual power is slipping. Sounds like some pressure tests are in order here.

As for the pto continuing to run, this is a common issue on TW tractors. Your brake disc is most likely broken. This will require a rear trans split, whereas clutch/dual power issues will require a front trans split.

You could very well have a basket case on your hands. Sounds like you have a decision to make.
