got my 4500 ford tractor running after 5 years and the hydraulics were a bit sluggish moved it parked it came back the next day and the hydraulics for the loader don't respond at all, the tank on the top is full looks clean but when i removed the line from the tank that feeds the pump there was no flow. I am going to change the filter but it looks like there might be more to it than that. Should I flush the system and put new fluid and does anyone know the procedure for flushing it thanks Larry
I tried to find info on line and in the manuals that I have but not much luck the line that feeds the pump I call it the suction line is a rubber hose with a spring going through it when i start the engine this line collapses telling me it is trying to suck fluid to the pump.
so what I am asking is it possible that the hydraulic fluid gelled causing a clog and how do I repair this ? would this be a common situation for a tractor that sat out in the weather for a few years ?
