Ford/NewHolland Hour Meter

Looking for help to repair troubleshoot the hour meter on my New Holland TN65. The tachometer and all other analog instrument gauges working fine. Hour meter just stopped. My user/operator manual is not helpful in this instance. What I don't know is if the hour meter is driven by the tach cable or not. If driven by tach cable, I suspect my problem is internal to the instrument cluster. If driven separately, I am in need of assistance to troubleshoot. Any and all help is appreciated.

A TN tach/hour meter could be cable driven or by a dedicated AC output from the alternator depending on the tractor’s configuration. A tach cable would connect to the left center of the engine block.

Rick, thankyou for the reply. My tach cable and tach are functioning properly. Can you elaborate on the possible alternator output for the hour meter? Is there a visual way to identify if I have the configuration you describe? Is there a test I can do to see if the alternator is providing the output?

If it has a mechanical cable there is no alternator connection. It is an either/or situation.
