I'M rebuilding the engine after sitting on my Dad's farm for 10+ years. The pistons are 4" with (3) compression rings and (1) oil ring [2 rings and oil swiper]. Steiner and my local New Holland/Ford dealer can only locate pistons that have (2) compression rings.
Is the POWERMASTER 841 the reason mine has 3 comp. rings, compared to a plain 841??
One local mature farmer thought maybe someone replaced, with a diesel piston, on a previous rebuild. Which my dad's notes confirm it was rebuilt, sleeved, pistons and rings in 1973 but no notation of a piston switch.
Thanks for any knowledge you could share of where to source and why the 3 rings on my POWERMASTER.
Model on frame is 841-S, SN 40059
