FORD 5610 seal leak?

I have a 5610 with 8x4 sycnromesh trans that appears to have a seal leak and also not sure what the rod going to rear differential is for. I thought maybe someone here could help or can tell me what seal this is?
Also the hand throttle will not hold in place it will slowly idle back down after working it a while. What would cause this?
 
I tried to upload a picture but it's not allowing me. The seal that leaking is on left side if you're sitting in the seat. Its linkage that come out of trans to rear diff. I was thinking for posi traction but not sure.
 
Without pictures or a better description, my guess would be the rod you're asking about is the rod for the left brakes and the seal is the brake rod seal. The brake rod is number 16 and the seal is number 19 in the parts drawing at the link below. The numbers in the drawing are for the right side rod and seal but they are the same as the ones on the left:

I'm not sure what you mean by "the seal on the other end of the rod". There's only one seal on the brake rod.

You should buy yourself an Operators Manual and a Service Manual.

OK, that's the brake cross-shaft seal. The cross shaft is forward of the rear differential so it didn't even come to my mind when you said "rod going to rear differential". Glad you figured it out anyway.
