Injection pump drain plug seal revisited

Got an 8700, can't get the injection pump drain plug to seal. Found this out when the govenor went nuts while baling hay, found the pump dry. Added oil, seems ok, but
couldn't have done it any good.
Like many Fords that age (got a couple 5000's too), the drain bolt feels like you dont want to crank on it too much. Like it's about to strip. And copper sealing
washers take a little bit of torque to get them to seal.

Could remove the pump and helicoil, or tap out to 3/8", but now is not a good time to do that.

So wondered if anybody has used the washers in the link in place of the copper washers, and did they work.

Or any other ideas.

Thanks

Wound up buying the washers in the link below.
Don't know how long the oring will hold up to oil. May have to replace whenever the oil gets changed.
But I do know it hasn't leaked after about 12 hours run time baling hay, and I didn't have to tighten them down too hard. No fears about stripping threads

BONDED OIL SEAL DOWTY WASHER

That is good information. I think that I would carry an extra screw and washer just in case since you can't get it really tight.

Best repair would be the 5/16 NF Heli coil insert, and be careful about bolt length if a different bolt is used. It's not pretty when the governor cage catches the bolt end and rips a hole in the housing. I've had several housings welded to repair that mistake..

Showcrop...I did

Brought a spare 5/16 bolt, seal and quart of oil when I went to the field....just in case.

And when I said I didn't have to tighten too hard, didn't mean it was loosely tightened, just didn't have to crank it down like I did to get the copper washer to seal.

Didn't know about the aluminum washers that were supposed to be there. But what's funny, got 3 tractors with those pumps that need the oil changed, all 3 had copper
washers on them. Apparently the aluminum washers got deformed or lost over the last 40-50 years, and were replaced with copper.
