4600 Injector pump

I'm trying to bleed the fuel system on my 4600. I get fuel at the bleeder screw when I turn the key, but no fuel at the injector lines. I know this might simply mean a faulty pump, but I don't have a lot of experience and was wondering if I might be missing something, of if there is something I can check or try.
Thanks

Either your kill cable slipped and the shutoff valve is in the off position, or else your internal metering valve is stuck in the off
position. The latter is a simple fix if you've done it before, and maybe a little overwhelming if you're not mechanically inclined.

What Bern said.. When did engine run last? If it's been awhile you may have more internal parts like rotor plungers stuck too along with the metering valve, requiring a complete tear down and cleaning to free everything up again. Have a Ford 172 pump apart now for the same trouble..

I've checked the kill cable and it's OK. I'm fairly mechanically inclined, just inexperienced with tractors, so I'm good with trying to fix whatever I can. Looks like new injector pumps are $500+ so I don't have much to lose in trying. Do I need to remove the pump?

The tractor hasn't run in over a year.

I repair 3-4 pumps each month with stuck internal parts from setting, usually water in fuel or bio diesel is the problem. Long as the hydraulic head is not seized or severely worn the original pump can be repaired for less than a new China pump..

I saw another thread on here that said if I cut the wire connecting two bolts on top and remove them, I can loosen the metering valve. Sound right?
