Anyone know what these engines go for? This one would at least need a rebuild. Low compression. I not sure about the oil pan because I might want to use it on another heavier front end? The engine is under cover but not in the pictures because we had to get the haybine out. I was thinking at least $500.

I sold one in about the same shape recently, it would start and run but usually needed a shot of ether. Got $500 and the guy seemed happy to get it. I had replaced it with a good solid 3600 engine, gave $1600 for it complete.

It will take $500 in machining and $1200 in parts to rebuild. I dont think $500 is out of the question.

Today's Featured Article - Recollections of a John Deere GP - by Charlie Cook. I grew up on my dad's 280 acre general farm in Western Michigan. Dad's only tractor when I was very young was the old GP. My first recollection of this tractor was when dad allowed my brother and myself to ride on the tractor with him driving. One of us would sit on the left fender (away from the clutch) and other would sit on the gas tank and hold onto the crankcase breather pipe. ... [Read Article]
