Ford 801 Powermaster Question

I recently began trying to get my one of my grandfathers old tractors running so I could begin using it for cutting grass and general work. I have a few questions about it. The tractor needs a clutch but before I begin ordering parts I wanted to be absolutely sure of what model I m ordering for. The model number I have for the tractor is a 851. Based on the research I ve already done the tractor should be a five speed without live pto. It is a five speed but it does have live pto. That being said I should be ordering a dual stage clutch correct? Also any more information anyone could give me on possibly year manufactured or any other useful information would be greatly appreciated. I attached a photo of the model number to this post. Hopefully it can be seen, this is my first post. If it can t be seen it s
851 (sideways 1) D the numbers below that are 55477
Thanks for all the help in advance!

851 is a single clutch. The sideways 1 is used as a dash. D is for diesel. For it to be a double disc it would be marked 861. On left side of screen there is a serial number list.

I agree based on the model number that it should be a single clutch. But my dad is a seasoned mechanic and has been in the clutch before. It is definitely a dual stage. Could it have been changed to a dual stage before in the past?

It could have been changed to dual clutch, but a lot more would have needed to be changed inside the transmission to make it live PTO. Does the PTO engage when the clutch pedal is halfway up and the transmission only engage when it's near all of the way up?

how about, you take it apart, see what needs to be replaced and leave no doubt?

Could it be that some one swapped the rear tractor halves at some point? I've done that with an Oliver 550. Put a Super 55 rear from the PTO clutches back... trans/rear-end etc as the 550's trans was junk. Open it up and see what you have.

"Could it be that some one swapped the rear tractor halves at some point?"

Ya-but... the numbers are stamped on the rear half.

So Ive split the tractor and it definitely has a dual stage clutch. Strange, Im not sure why the model number is a 851.
