Hi all, just wondering if someone could help me out with working out what year my ford 3000 was produced. these are the numbers I've found the numbers behind the starter motor

C1213C
5E15
B952567

The production code-5E15 tells me that its 1965, May 15th, but the model number tells me that its later than 1968 due to it starting with a C, so I'm a bit confused?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

C1213C
C12 at the beginning - 3000 series highway chassis model, also called the 3120
second 1 - diesel engine
3 - live PTO
Last C - 8 speed transmission

5E15 - You are correct that it is May 15 of some year that ends in a 5, but they made the 3 cylinder thousand series from 1965 until partway through 1975. Some references, including th eNew Holland parts site says that they were only made through 1974, but they were made into 1975, so I would say that it is May 15, 1975.

B952567 is a fairly late Basildon Domestic serial number. They started at B800001 in 1965 and had only progressed to B851094 by April 1 1968, which are the only two numbers I have specified in my references. So again, that points to it being 1975 rather than 1965.

Later models have the dry air filter on the side. The '65 (like mine) has an oil sump air filter behind the grille.
