I have a Ford 555B that when purchased had a exchanged rebuilt engine installed. My tractor # is C746554 Model DFS111 Unit 5H36. I am trying to find out where on the engine I can locate a plate with the engine #. I am in need to replace the water pump and I'm trying get the pump before I lay up the machine. On the bottom of the engine there is a # E2NN6678BC 5E29008. It is a single pulley on the water pump. Is part # 87800115 the correct part #?

DFS111 is not a valid model number. The third character needs to be a numeral, so my guess is that it is DF5111, which would make it a plain 555, not a 555B, or DF8111 which would be a 555B.

The 111 at the end says it has a diesel engine, no PTO and a 4x4 torque converter auto reversing transmission. The DF5 555 was made in the 1979-1983 time frame, and the DF8 555B was made form 1985-1988

The Unit number being 5H36 isn't correct either. The 5 at the beginning would mean that it was made in a year ending in a 5, the H would mean the month was August, and the next numbers should be the day of the month, but no August I am aware of ever had 36 days, so I am guessing that it is 5H3C. Since the regular 555 was never made in a year ending in a 5 and the 555B was, the model number is most likely DF8111 making it a 555B, Which would mean that it was assembled on August 3, 1985 during the afternoon shift.

The numbers you have for the engine don't say much. Is there a large raised casting number on the right side that has 6015 in it?

The water pumps were pretty much the same for a lot of years, so that part number should work even if it is an earlier or later engine.
