Does coil have internal resister? If not and no external your points maybe bad. Also is coil 12 volt?

No moisture. Thanks for asking.
The coil is Echlin IC-9, 6V, oil filled. Doesn’t indicate internal resistor, but there is a resister up by the gauges with two white wires clipped to it. Cant trace the white wire from the coil, because it disappears into a wiring harness.

The wire from the + side of the coil does go to the resistor. So if I buy a new coil, would it be better to get a 6V or 12V?
Also, are points and condenser the same at 6 or 12 volts? —Peter
