What kind of valve is this?

Was at a yard sale yesterday and picked this up for 25$. The seller said it fit an 801 so I assume it will work on my 850. One lever feels like it s gummed up the other is fine. Will it work for a top link? Is there a rebuild kit for them? Is it even for my tractor? It does have FoMoCo on the side so I know it s for a Ford.

Typical Ford style dual remote.
Will fit all the smaller (under 70 hp?)
From 1955-1983 and maybe beyond.
If it works it's worth $3-$400 pretty
easily.
Will work for a top link which is a great
addition to your tractor.
Nice score!

Thanks for the info. Glad to know it will fit. Is there anywhere to read up on how it functions? It has two lines now and looks like two ports blocked off. Is that correct?

It has two spools.
One spool/handle with the hoses is being
used for a two way cylinder - power up,
power down, like you'll want for a top
link. The other is blocked off so you
don't accidentally bump the handle and
blow oil everywhere.
Most of them have an adjusting screw on
at least one spool so you can use it two
way or one way - pressure up, gravity
down.
They usually take special length bolts so
expect to have to buy a longer bolt and
cut a few threads off to get just the
right length. Bring it to your New
Holland dealer and get new orings for the
underside where it mates to the tractor.
There are about 5 of them. You can use
aftermarket orings too but they are
different diameters and thicknesses and
harder to get just the right size.
Dealer will most likely have them in
stock for not too much $

Well done! Easily 10 cents on the dollar for that unit.

You can find discussion of this valve near the end of the FO-20 I&T manual. The discussion is limited to R&R with little talk of practical usage. Disassembly is fussy and I'd encourage you not to do any unless and until it's demonstrated that there's a reason. Use some compressed air to blow the dust off, shoot it with some 'all purpose lubricant' where the handles operate and into the o-ringed holes on the bottom and stick it in a plastic bag until you are ready to install it.

It has one set of hoses attached, if you want to use it to its full capacity you'll need similar pair attached to the plugged ports. Your CHN dealer could help you with those when you pick up the new o-rings. Not many situations need the second set so you could save some money by waiting until you actually need it to install them.

A real nice addition to your tractor, congratulations.

What a find!

If fully functional it could easily be sold for $500+.

Be careful with the handles as they are easily broken and NLS.

AS previously mentioned, you will need the banjo fittings for the two unused ports to use the currently unused spool. Still available from CNH (at least a few years ago) but I would not wait too long. CNH is actively dropping parts for vintage Ford tractors from their parts system.

Yes, it will fit your Ford 850, and yes, you will need two longer bolts. Save yourself some time and frustration buying the correct O-rings from CNH.

I have the same valve on my 64, 4000 SOS.
