Do you think the swinging draw bar can take it?

I made a bracket for my 3400 to set my 800lb ballast weight on. Do you think the drawbar and axle housing will be okay?

I would worry that a bouncing load...ie driving over rough terrain, would bend the drawbar over time? I dont know what the drawbar is rated for, but on a 3000 its a smaller drawbar than the bigger tractors, and I have flex the heck out of mine just moving the round baler. So much so that I though it might break, so I dont do it any more. The draw bar now has a slight downwards set in it. Again, dont know what the tongue weight of the big round baler is.

Think of moving something by prying with a screwdriver.
Now think about moving that same object with a 3 foot long crowbar.
You have just made a crowbar out of your screwdriver draw bar by adding length to it.
The farther you move the weight from the tractor the bigger you are making the crowbar.

If it was my tractor I'd be more concerned about the integrity of the bolts that attach swinging drawbar bracket to trans case than the drawbar. I had the bolts I'm referring to shear off on a 3000 while towing a 12 wheel rake on a county road several yrs back.

We had a 4000 4 cylinder break a drawbar at the curve with the factory weight on it. We slid a piece of square tube over the end of it to keep the weight up. I don't know who broke it but i'm sure it would have been a bounce. We have also added side plates to the factory hanger that are bolted on by the axle bolts and then welded at the hanger to keep the bolts from working loose around the pto shaft housing.

2X the bolts. I would remove them, clean them and the holes real well, apply thread locker and tighten them good. If just one were to loosen others could pull out.
