TW30 Dual power? For Bern?

Hey Bern, I got that pump out and it is worn pretty bad. The parts book shows it held together with two flat head screws. This pump does not have those. Is it the new or old version. Direct drive clutch was all burned up and the outer seal on the piston was real bad. A spring in the main drive clutch cover had busted and a piece got lodged at the outer edge of the disc. So that is why it would not stop when clutch was pushed in. Also the brake disc on the pto was broke in half and is lodged riding on the pinion shaft nut.

Sounds like a real basket case you have there, as I suspected all along. The broken PTO brake disc is typical of almost every TW you'll ever split. Very poor design on Ford's part there. Is the owner still going to dump money in that thing?

As for the pump, the key to determining whether you have the new or old style is by the diameter of the bearing inside of it. The older pump has a 62mm OD bearing, while the newer pump has a 72mm OD bearing. See parts reference #4 below.

The old style pump always failed the bearing. Is that what happened to yours? Let me know what you find.
