Hydraulic lift won't go until control handle is halfway up

I purchased a 641 about two years ago, and the hydraulics have always had a bit of an issue. They work, but the lift won't begin to raise until I'm more than halfway up the range of the slider on the control handle. It also jumps or bounces, which I'm assuming is from a leak somewhere in the lift itself. Could both of these issues be part of the same problem, or is there some way to set the lift handle differently to adjust it? The only reason I ask this is that the leveler in the back had been put on upside down from the man who had it before me, so I just want to check and see if there had been other adjustments to be made.

Sounds like you have a couple of problems:

1. The cam follower pin is worn and/or the internal adjustments are off (probably both)

2. There is an internal leak, most likely around the piston seal inside the lift cylinder, but possibly in the control valve (or both).

Your best course of action is to purchase a service manual, a top cover repair kit and a cam follower pin and pull the top cover and do a full R&R of everything under there including following the procedures for adjusting the linkages and then put it back together.

Thanks for the thought. I checked and it?s not set on draft control. Looks like I have some stuff to read up on. Thank you for the response. .

Thank you for the insight. Is there a particular manual you
would recommend?
Also, is the cam follower pin the same thing as a draft control
arm pivot pin? I can?t seem to find a part for cam follower pin.
Again, thank you for the help.
