TW30 Dual power? For Bern?

So I got a new gauge and ran some more test. With the gauge hooked to the port on the regulating valve that would go to the PTO control valve. Line to PTO Plugged. Engine at 2200 RPM the readings were 167 PSI in low DP and 10 PSI in high DP. Then I unhooked the line to the DP from the regulating valve and capped the port and plugged the hose. Engine @ 2200 RPM reading was 167 PSI. When I pushed either brake pedal the pressure would drop to 157 PSI. Also the tractor would attempt to move with pedal in low DP even with line unhooked. I took the DP regulating valve spring and spool out and they both looked good. The plug that holds the spring in was pretty hard to get started back in. Is it possible for the lube circuit to cause the low pressure overall reading? Do I need to split it? Could it have a broken piston in the high clutch? Don't have a flow meter. Thanks! Cedric

Based on the numbers, I strongly feel that you have multiple issues going on. The drastic differences in pressure between idle and 2200 RPM indicate a pump issue to me. The drastic difference in the dual power high/low numbers indicate a problem in the high clutch to me.

What *might* have happened is that the pump started going out, and pressures dropped. The high range clutch in the dual power slipped badly enough to the point that the clutch pack clearance increased enough to expose the piston seals, explaining the drastic drop in pressure. This might also explain the PTO numbers as well.

If it were me, I'd pressure/flow test the transmission pump as I described earlier. If you can't do that, and I were you, I'd figure on a double split to go after both the PTO clutch as well as the dual power. The transmission pump will be right there on the back of the tranny at that time for your inspection.
