I will soon be putting a clutch in what I believe to be a Ford 4000, I have the model number, production code, and serial # from the tractor located on the flywheel housing behind the starter. Problem is the model number doesn t match any info I ve found on Oaktree Ford Tractors page. Numbers from top to bottom

7B23B
7C9
B835066

I think the B in the serial # means it
came from England. So the model number
won't be on the right side of the tractor
where they usually are.
Look in the same area on the left side
for some numbers and post those.

That's an early Basildon domestic serial number.

The 7B23B and 7C9 both look like date codes. 7B23B is February 23 1967 and 7C9 is March 9 1967, so the transmission was probably assembled on February 23 and the tractor was probably assembled on March 9.

The model number may be on the left side as Ultradog said, or it may be up in the rough part of the casting above the numbers you already found. You can also check for the foil sticker on the under side of the right side hood panel to see if the numbers might be there. Once you've been a member for a few days and have 10 posts or more you can post pictures, and those might be able to help us to help you determine what it is if you can't find the model number.

thanks, I will check on the left side and try to get some decent pictures. The decal under the hood is missing unfortunately.
