Naa block drain

Would this be the block drain in front of the starter. There is a rusted up hole that water seeps out. I have poked and prodded it but it just still seeps a little. Kind of cone shaped. I stuck a pick in about a inch.

Yep, that's the drain for the block. It is apparently plugged with rust, sand etc.and maybe a twisted off drain plug. Lucky you haven't lost all your
coolant.

The tractors been sitting for years. I'm get it running for a neighbor. I put a new radiator in it. Decided to put straight water in until I found out if everything worked. I was real close to putting antifreeze in but glad I elected not to. Now to figure out what to do with this mess. It's been one thing after another with this one. I dont think the previous owner knew how to fix things as the body was held together with plumbers tape and sheet metal screws. The alternator that someone installed didn't line up for beans. It's a little better now.

I have poked and prodded this hole a bunch and all I get it to do is seep.
I want to drive a punch in it or maybe drill it but dont know how much clearance there is. I dont want to poke a hole in the cylinder wall. I may just tap it and put a plug in it.

If you tap and plug that hole, you are just going to have to take your plug out at a latter date, to get the block to drain.
You need to open up the whole engine coolant system, and flush ALL the rust and crud out.
If, as you say,...the tractor has been sitting for an extended time, it is very possible, that the block has frozen up, and may very well, have cracked the block at some point.
Oregon, is a cold state during the winter, as you know!!!

If you don't clean out the block coolant area.......you are/may just be spinning yer wheels, and spending time and $$$$'s for
no gain!!!

Drill in about 1 1/2" with a 1/4" drill bit and let it drain. Then stick a pressure sprayer up to the hole and blow water in there to flush whatever crud you can get. Then drill it to 1/4" pipe plug size , tap it and put in a pipr plug

I ran a pipe tap in today. Threads clean up easy and a petcock screwed in. I poked a wire in close to 1 1/2 inches and it just seeps. Im not going to do anymore until the owner gets back. I traded getting it running for a 8n that hasn't ran in years. I'm not going to put much more time or money in it. If he wants more done we will have to work something else out.

Yep. Looks like it. After looking at some block pics I might try going at a angle towards the back. I'm thinking the frost plugs need to come out at the least. I'm leaving that up to the owner. Thanks for the suggestions.

I went back today and pushed it in towards the back and it went in much further but still no water. Its full of crud. I can tell I'm hitting the cylinders now. Guess it can sit until the owner comes home.
