When I was at the Dealer, I forgot to check the condition on the PTO shaft. When I called the Dealer to tell him that I would take the tractor but that I forgot to check the PTO shaft condition and he said that would check it because the shaft did have the cover on it.
Will he delivered it yesterday afternoon. This morning I unscrewed the cover. I almost had a heart-attack. The shaft is broken almost flush with the housing.
The Wife says: you know you bought as is! I tell her I know that!
Will I called the Dealer, he was as shocked as I was. He did say now that he forgot to check the shaft.
The good news is, he will come and get the tractor and fix it. He is going to have fun because it's got a Hiniker cab on it. The way I am reading that right axle trumpet is got to come off to get at a nut at the end of the shaft to pull the shaft out.

If they know it can be changed without pulling cab or trumpet. Go thru cover behind toplink hole pull cotter unscrew nut.

I have done it on a couple of tractors that were on winter road salting duties and needed in a hurry. I got the cotter pin out, jammed a spanner on the nut and used a big pipe wrench on the broken stub of the PTO shaft. It is not easy but takes less time than taking the cab and axle off.

Any Hiniker cab I ever saw could have the rear supports removed once the cab was properly supported. It is highly unlikely the entire cab has to come off to pull a trumpet housing.
I serviced a PTO clutch in an 8000 once by removing the hydraulic pump. Once; never again.
