Anyone have a source for the big square-
bend u-bolts for a 5000's fenders, other
than New Holland? Dont need the hour
drive each way, or their price.
5/8"-18 x 6 1/2" inside x 9" long.
No luck so far finding anything that big
in web searches.
Thanks.

We have used 3/8" or 1/2" x 2" flat stock for under the axles.
Drill or torch holes the width of your axles then use all thread with a nut on each end.
Any old flat stock will work - piece of an old truck spring if you have a torch.
A little bit of work with a grinder and they even look decent.
Not for ROPS but for fenders it's fine.

Try to find a shop that repairs/replaces dump truck (or large truck) springs. Often they will have a machine to make them since they're dealing with many different sizes of leaf packs. As far as the web there are a bunch of sites that make custom u-bolts. this site looks like they can make what you need:

Would a 388838S36 /83919385 work? They are used to hold the stabilizer brackets on and are available aftermarket.

Those would probably work.
Since I'm still waiting for a part for my welder, I dropped the fender off at a local welding shop to have the base welded back on, and I'm having him make an under the axle plate to go with it.
