Stuck clutch on a 841D

My neighbor has a older 841D with a backhoe and a loader on it. The clutch is stuck pretty good on it. It runs excellent. He has tried all the methods of unsticking the clutch but nothing has worked. He is reluctant about splitting the tractor by removing the loader and the backhoe. I suggested he cut a rect. hole in the side of the bell housing to access the clutch plate and pressure plate. It would be easy to cover the hole. Has anybody ever done that before and if you have can you take some pics of yours

Thanks

I would pull the starter to see if he can get to the clutch from there, or remove the steering gear before I would cut a hole in the bell housing.

This thing sat in the woods for years

Have a 4000 that sat for 20 +/- years. Tried everything.
Removed starter, and tried to pry clutch, or just hit flywheel to
generate some vibration. Held clutch down, and ran it until
warm, several times. Finally, bypassed start in gear safety,
and started in 7th gear (one from highest). First push of
clutch, then slam brakes, it came free.

My Dad had a stuck clutch on an 8N once. He took it to the local Ford dealer and they drilled a round hole with a hole saw, stuck a large screwdriver and popped it loose. I wouldn't cut a square hole, it could possibly crack away from the corners. Cut a round hole that wouldn't compromise the strength of the casting.

Detail what has been tried. Maybe someone else's "all the methods" list has a couple more entries.
