I'm a new member, and I'm trying to get my late father's old tractor running. The old carburetor leaked terribly, so I purchased a rebuilt one off the net. I have it installed, and the issue I'm having is that when I pull the choke out and turn the engine over, it starts dripping gas from the bottom. I think it's coming from around the choke shaft. When I pull the air breather hose off the carb, there's a pretty good bit of gas there that runs out. Only leaks when choke is pulled out and engine is turning over. I took the carb off and separated the two halves, and the float isn't stuck, and it appears to be working correctly. Otherwise, I would think the gas would continue to leak. Is this normal? Is this a bad rebuild?
