871 SOS wiring diagram

I am fixing an 871 SOS for a neighbor lady and want to hook up the park safety switch and the lubrication indicator lamp. I have the manuals but cannot find a wiring diagram for these. The tractor has been converted to 12v. Neither of these were wired when I started the project.
Thanks in advance for any help

Welcome!

It's fairly simple actually. The wire from the grounded side of the starter switch runs down through the transmission cover to the safety switch. However, unless one knows the cover R & R procedure to a T, it is not advisable to do this job.

The ground wire from the lube light runs from it down and along the left side of the transmission case to the round inspection cover where the hydraulic dipstick is. It enters through a grommet on the top of this cover and goes to a switch on the transmission output housing. It's a little difficult to see this switch without lights and mirrors.

thank you Larry appreciate the help. I had already located and replaced the lube switch wire inside the case but was lost from there. I ll have to check the starter switch to see if it has a ground leg. I am guessing your referring to the push button not the keyed switch correct?

Push button under right side of dash. It's a 2 terminal switch (button). One lug has to be to your ground, in this case the safety starter switch. The other lug is wired to the small S terminal on the solenoid.

thanks got it, do you know if they used the same indicator lamp for both the park safety and the lube light? I see two lamp sockets but figured one of them was likely the alt/ gen lamp.

There were only 2 indicator lights. Gen and Trans. bulbs were identical. However very early red lenses had Gen & Tra written on them respectively. I don't know when that was discontinued in favor of the plain red lenses that were used in later production.
