Funny thing happened today. had a 6' rotary mower on the 3 pt driving down the country road and hit s hard bump and the lift arm severed, just like you
took a knife to it at a 90* angle, about an inch in front of the leveling box/arm attaches..
Looking at the raw interface, it looks crystalline in nature thinking maybe these things are cast rather than forged steel. Whatever it is, I am in the middle
of a job and need it tomorrow. I have some 6011 rods and I was thinking about grinding V grooves at the junction, weld up several layers, grinding off
smooth, then scab a 3-4"plate on both sides since scab joints are my strongest.
Additionally, the arm is 32" center to center, ?" wide with a max width of 3". I bought these off ebay a year or so ago and they seem to be very soft, and
bend readily.........figuring on the country of origin is beyond my wildest aspiration..........
Anybody have a couple of the old type that don't bend you want to get out from under your feet?
Comments appreciated. Thanks,
Mark
