Hi, had intermittent starting, changed ignition and ran into problems, since found dodgey connection from starter, but still having headaches with it.

have 3 turn ignition

copied wires across from old ignition that had many terminals and matched up with https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/732749801847098368/
got to gauge, warning lamp and ignition (position 4) and the old ignition only had a single terminal with both thin white wires combined, and new had two terminals... also have a thick white wire?

any help or guidance welcome.
have fixed dodgey connection to starter.
checked out of gear (both)
PTO is off
engine switch off is not sticking.
battery charged and checked terminals.

tried many arrangements, yet for some reason I get no lights on first turn, two on second turn and at times sounds like it wants to turn over but just get a click at most.

ordered a workshop manual and trying to find misplaced original ignition, and additonal bought ignition, to try that as was a while ago took off.

any suggestions / advice warmly welcomed, bought last year, did a season and worked well, then stood for a bit and was starting fine as mower on back, is shot so was lifting it to try to fix that, well until it started to be intermittent starting, sometimes nothing and on another day would just start.

found no power from staftey starter and solenoid (white/yellow) position 5, so dismanteling to get a better look

(quoted from post at 03:34:09 04/22/20) Check for a broken push on connector. Had one on a 3000 that I chased for far too long.

Will do, found one as it fell apart in my hand, believe issue is with neutral starter switch, which I have yet to locate, took me too long to get multi-metre out. Will keep an eye out for more.
