Try this picture game again. . . .
Machine was slow to load these. Drum retainers on the drums from 1957?
Ya' gotta be kidding me. 53 years? uh...oops? Naturally one drum is froze hard as a brick and the other drum needs the shoes backed off to release the drum.
Too many other projects going on today so the stuck drum is soaking with Kroil on it. The rotted rim needs dismount and measured to order a new rim. Not going to fix it. Cheap enough to get a new rim.

I've replaced them on a couple of vintage Fords that I've owned.

Still available from CNH about 10-12 years ago.

I found drum retainers on one of my Fords but cant remember which one. Neat find. Mine were not rusty and unthreaded easily. Like you, I was suprised to find them after so many years.

Today's Featured Article - Recollections of a John Deere GP - by Charlie Cook. I grew up on my dad's 280 acre general farm in Western Michigan. Dad's only tractor when I was very young was the old GP. My first recollection of this tractor was when dad allowed my brother and myself to ride on the tractor with him driving. One of us would sit on the left fender (away from the clutch) and other would sit on the gas tank and hold onto the crankcase breather pipe. ... [Read Article]
