Pulled the Gold weight plate

See if I can remember how to load a pic....
Somebody painted it blue. PO said he got it this way.
I get to dig up another rime for this toy now.
This might be mission creep. Tired of having to drop the front bucket or the brush hog for brakes.
Wife said she would repaint it. Right after I get a paint code for the gold.
This is just one project for the next few weeks.

Probably no one would notice this but, you are shifting the S.O.S. with your left hand. And I have always thought that is where the lever should be. The were always shipped from the factory on the right and unless the customer insisted, we always move them to the left. Your right hand was free for the hydraulic lever, PTO, throttle, etc!

I took it apart and it was fairly well worn down so switching it to the right side was not going to work.
It is a bit more out of the way on the left side anyway. I was thinking about reworking this machine this year but I will wind up reworking a 881D instead to put the FEL onto.
Then goldy should get redone.

FWIW: The aluminum housings (domes) that cover either side of the S-O-S shifter and wear over time as the steel selector handle engages against one or the other, are one of the few parts that are available from the aftermarket.

I can' think of any time that I would have wanted it on the left on mine. I'm usually not changing the 3 point handle, throttle, or PTO when I am shifting gears. If I am, it is at a point where I have the tractor stopped and can change multiple things before I raise the inching pedal and start the tractor in motion again.

Where can I get one?
The ability to go right hand might be a need for the wife. AFTER I get the brakes done and the rim replaced and a few other mission creep things. And, and, and. . .

Steiners I have heard of. DC?
I thank you for the info.
I still need to locate some OEM used Ford 871 Script fenders before next year.
and a paint code for the gold.

DC is code for a high quality supplier of Ford parts that cannot be posted here.

Think Dennis The Menace and a worker that works with wood or perhaps a type of bee that bores into wood.
