Ford NAA134 No oil pressure

I installed a new oil pump and rebuilt the motor. The issue that I have is oil pressure has been diagnosed with the pan off pressurized oil through the oil galleys no extreme leakage. However, the oil galley that lubricates crank gear and cam gear is shooting out oil through an 1/8" hole behind cam gear.

When the hole is plugged, it has 50 lbs. of oil pressure. With the hole opened, no oil pressure. The question that I have is, should the 1/8" hole have a reducer with a smaller hole? Or is could there be another issue?

Just guessing here, I've never had my 172 apart, but I have had other engines apart. What you may have is an access hole to bore the oil gallery during manufacturing and then plugged off. Did you have the block boiled at a machine shop? They probably removed that plug and forgot to replace it.

I agree with Jim L WA. You need a cup plug in that hole if it's 1/8" (it's most likely larger than that). A lube hole for the timing gears
wouldn't even be half of that.

I think it's #43 in the link below. They just don't show it in the correct location.
