Alternator Conversion

Anybody got a wiring diagram for replacing the generator on a 3000 Ford diesel
with a Delco 10 SI alternator. I'm not worried about the generator tach drive, I
have replaced the engine with one that has the oil pump tach drive, I will be
changing the instrument cluster to one with ccw rotation.

I've converted a few and fixing to do another, don't have a drawing but may be able to make one a little later, I do mine a little different using a terminal block were the old regulator was rather than splicing the wires together.

There are 3 big fat wires and 2 skinny wires, plus a black ground wire that go to the voltage regulator.
Remove the Vreg.
Connect the 3 fat wires together.
Connect the 2 skinny wires together.
Reground the ground wire on a screw where the vreg was.
Then hook up the wires on the back of the alternator as per the diagram at the link below.
Notes:

I make a butt joint and solder the 3 fat wires together then use shrink tubing to insulate.
Same with the 2 skinny wires.
In the diagram at the link below they show the sense wire going all the way back to the battery.
You do not need to run it that far.
Just make about a 5" long jumper and hook it from #2 rerminal to the batt terminal on the back of the alternator.
There is a ground screw on the alternator. Ground it to the engine block.
Done.
Click here and scroll down a bit for the diagram

What Jerry said is how it's done.
I was just copying the diagram.

I found some 6 terminal blocks at my local NAPA and mounted it where the old regulator went, using a jumper bar between the top two terminals I made all of the connections at the block

You'll notice the three big wires are connected to the top two terminals with the jumper bar, the two smaller wires are on the 3rd terminal, ground wire is under the bolt just above the two white wires to the left, I spliced in a second ground wire to go to the bottom terminal for another app.

Am I correct in assuming that the large wire on the generator connects to the
battery terminal on the alternator and the small wire connects to the #1
terminal?
