641 Hydrolic Dip Stick

When checking hydraulic oil in my 641 the one side of the dip stick shows hash marks and 2 arrows
and says hydraulic system all cylinders extended. The other says pedestal oil level filler opening.
with 2 arrows and lines for level. What does this mean on the second side and which is right
when checking oil level.
Thanks for any help with this. MM

The side that says pedestal oil level is for use on the rowcrop tractors that have the front steering gearbox that the narrow front bolts to. You use it through the oil fill hole to check the level of oil in it. Ford didn't make a separate dipstick just for that so they just stamped both sides of the hydraulic dipstick. Greg NE
