Hello all, glad to be here. Question for ya'll.
I am almost done rebuilding/restoring my 4000su, and am having trouble getting it started. I am considering that I may have timed the gears on the wrong TDC, as in not on the compression stroke. Is there anyway to confirm this beside taking the front cover end off again? maybe a compression check?
When I do put it on TDC on the compression stroke now, the 0 degree lines right up in the center of the sight hole on the bell housing.
She is spitting fuel from the carb and has backfired a couple times from the carb.
I trouple checked the distributor while TDC and it and the leads are correct.
