Where to get filters for SOS transmission.

Howdy,

Ford 3400 with SOS transmission. Is there anyplace to get filters for the transmission?

CNH has them. Probably others.

Thanks Dean. I was under the impression that SOS filters were virtually impossible to find.

The late model, externally accessible filters were never difficult to find. The early afterthought filter beneath the top cover was unavailable for a few years but is now again readily available.

I bought one for mine at NAPA last week. $22 including tax and had it next day.

The filters for the pre-1965 S-O-S transmissions are the hard to find ones. The one for your 3400 was originally part number C5NN7B155A which has been superseded by part number 309735, and should be available at any New Holland dealer. The Wix cross reference for the original part number is 51569.
