I have a '68 year model Ford 3000 diesel tractor that I have a few fuel system problems with.
First off the previous owner chopped the fuel system up from the tank to the lift pump so its mostly rubber fuel hose. Problem Ive been having is the fuel line doesn't get tight in the inlet of the lift pump. I found out the compression sleeve is too small and doesn't fit right. The metal hard line being used is a 1/4" hardline which is smaller than the hardline coming out of the outlet of the lift pump.
The lift pump is a Lucas CAV FP314A. I cant get this pump from any of the stores such as here or steiner they all have the inlet at 12 o'clock while mine is at 6 o'clock. I do need the lift pump but my main concern is the hard line leaking at the inlet side.
Does anyone here know what size fitting this pump takes?
I tried to find a reproduction metal fuel hardline but nothing exist for the Ford 3000 diesel tractors outside of from the injection pump to the injectors themselves.
