First I have to thank the yt members. You guys have answered a bunch of questions and helped me out. Can t thank you guys enough. So far I ve rebuilt the engine and it doesn t leak a drop. Next on the list is adding power steering that I got from a 900 and fixing 3rd gear. Once that s complete I m going to blast and paint it. I m going non traditional flat black tins and hot rod red for the chassis and wheels.

This I gotta see, a 900 Power Steering working on an 800!!Or did I miss something along the way here?

Maybe I m missing something. The tractor I pulled it from had a 900 emblem on it but it looked just like my 800 series. Maybe it wasn t a 900.

The 900 series is the row crop version of the Ford tractor that used the same 172 ci engine as the 800. The 900 and 800 series had completely different front axle and steering configurations, and they will not interchange, If the tractor you pulled the power steering from had the same type of adjustable width front axle with radius rods and double sided steering arms as your 850, then it wasn't a 900 series tractor, but that 900 badge is just a badge and may have been swapped out over the years.

"Ok it was not the correct badge."

A lot of parts get swapped over the years. But they keep on running! :)
