I had to drain mine when I split the tractor. I m pretty sure what came out was ATF. It was red in color and smelled like it. Is that right or should I be using something else?

It depends on where you are, (humidity) and hw much use it will get. UTF, which you need if your tractor has clutch packs or wet brakes, which an 850 does not, will absorb moisture from the air, which is not a problem if you get the oil hot enough 3-4 times a year to make the water evaporate. Plain hydraulic oil does not tend to absorb the moisture so you can get rid of the moisture by draining it off the bottom once or twice a year.

Obviously that draft will increase if the implement runs deeper than eight inches, and decrease if it runs shallower. Why not use that draft fact to control the depth of work automatically? The draft forces are
