Does anyone near Iowa have a set of tires w/rims 9/10/12x24" they would care to trade for these huge tires?

Congrats on the new-to-you tractor Lynn!
I always thought it would be neat to have a LCG.
I don't really have a use/need for one, I just like them!

What's wrong with those "huge" tires? They look to be in pretty good shape and should provide plenty of flotation and traction on soft and/or wet ground. What tasks do you plan for the tractor, and what style tires (ag, turf, industrial) are you looking for in those narrower sizes?

Not a bad looking old tractor.
Congrats.
When I was putting my 3000 together all
I had for rears was a pair of near new
11.2x28 Firestones that I put on it.
They were definately not enough tire.
I had to be real quick on the clutch as
the tractor had enough power to bury
those tires and in the blink of an eye I
was sitting on the drawbar hanger.
With the 24" sizes you mention it would
be even worse. I run 12.4x28s on it now
and though they still aren't enough tire
it is better than before.
Another thing you want to keep in mind
with that model is the oil pan. I've
seen a few 2/3000 APs with bashed in oil
pans. With those short spindles your pan
is even closer to those big rocks.
As you may know, I run those short lcg
spindles on my 3000. I was concerned
enough that I installed a cast iron pan
on it from a 3400. CI pan not only made
the underside bullet proof but added
extra weight to my front end.

What's wrong with those "huge" tires?

Also Sean, with those tires the tractor is 8' wide! My finish mower is only 6' & I don't think I can afford one to cover those wheel tracks!
