I have a 2600 diesel. There is a part on the left rear of engine and I'm not sure what it is. Is leaking a little oil thru some kind od plug that has snap ring

Any help? Need to see if an oring or something behind

Are you referring to the auxillary hydralic pump? There is a plug little smaller than a quarter with a snap ring holding it in. Yes there is an o-ring behind that plug. Last o-ring I bought probably 11 years ago was 13.00. Plug was 33.00. Still seeps slightly. If you take snap ring off and crank engine, shaft holding gear in pump will blow out, then got to take pump off to align gear to shaft.

Yes, found out the hard way. Plug would not come out, so thought just crank engine, not start it. engine hardly turned over and blew shaft out and gear dropped. Blew plug out. Tractors with auxillary pumps have mounting gaskets with oil drainback hole. Engines without aux hyd pump does not have that drain hole. If the gasket with no drain hole is used with pump, tries to push oil out. That is what I was told at NH dealer.
