NOS Ford half cab on 861

I got lucky and found this brand new half cab / winterfront on
ebay a while back. I finally took the time to put it on our 861

That's awesome! I have had three or four different heat housers
and soft cabs, the canvas ones always seem to work the best.
They're obviously not a full cab, but the windbreak is a definite
bonus if you have to be out in the cold weather pushing snow!

The soft cab on "mini-me" in this picture is an original Ford accessory
from 1974. I use it and the '74 garden tractor/snowblower it's on every year.
The 3000 with the Year-a-round cab, front blade and rear snowblower is
also a 1974. Obviously that cab is not Ford, but it still has canvas drapes.
In an hour or so I'm setting on my hat, gloves, coat etc and my
boots are completely dry. There's no floor in that cab either.
Just the warmth the canvas brings back from the engine.

Very cool and you have a great looking tractor. I hope mine looks that good one day.

SWEET!!! We had one of those on a Jubilee that we fed with! It made a 5 mile round trip every day hauling silage. No trouble keeping warm behind that gas burner!

Your pics and videos always make me lust for more, LOL. When I was kid after every snowstorm someone would go by our house on an old Farmall with s winter front and a big bucket. He would go into town to clear driveways.

We had a heathouser on a 3000 every winter for years. Plowed a lot of snow with it and just a back blade. Was always warm enough in it. As of late, I have thought that a good heathouser and a ROPS with a canopy would be a decent combination. I don't think there would be too large of an opening between the top of the heathouser and the canopy, and it should serve to keep large amounts of snow and cold from coming in that way.

Looks great!! I wish I could find one of those in that condition. I have most of the frame work and the tatters of the canvases from 2 of them that my Dad had used many years ago but they are too far gone to use anymore.

Your tractor with the heat houser on it would make a treat for folks at a tractor show. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us.

I?m thinking I?ll have to take it to one sometime. Afraid to haul it down the road with it on. Might have to borrow my cousins enclosed race car trailer

So true, I didnt even think about how you would get the tractor to a show with the half cab on it. Installation just fun enough that you wouldn't want to remove for transport?

Had one just like that on my 800 loved it, if it got real cold I would put the umbrella on and sucked it down close kept a lot of heat in.

Looks great. I was lucky to find one in very good shape also on ebay a few years ago. I got the top with mine works great in the summer and in winter. Heats up very nicely wish I had the rear curtain and keeps the baking sun off while mowing. Here's a couple pics of mine.
