How do you hook 8n solenoid. I have two wires + battery cable. Do the two wires go on small terminal.

o, the large gauge wire goes on same terminal as the battery cable and the small gauge wire to the small terminal. Should be obvious by the size of hole in wire-end terminal. Typically the small terminal needs to point toward engine.....this orients solenoid such that the correct large terminals connect to starter motor and the correct one to battery. If the two large terminal connections are reversed it will not function.

The diagrams shown below are all from OEM Essential Manuals and a few others - get them if you don't own a set. It's important to know that OEM Wiring as shown has the correct color coded wires. Unless you have an original wiring harness or a newer exact-as-original harness, disregard colors. Colors do not conduct electrons. Verify each wire regardless. Use VOM, not a test light, set on CONTINUITY if in doubt.
