hydraulic coupler on steering box

The ford 860 I just purchased has a male hydraulic coupler on top of the steering box. This tractor does not have power steering. Why is this fitting there?

No it doesn't. It is the typical hydraulic fitting used on most tractors I have seen.

TL,
My guess is that the former owner used this fitting to pump lube into the steering gear box.
I have a grease fitting on mine and use it to pump regular red grease into my box.
