Want to overhaul vane pump and have been following FO-19 manual. Fig FO87 shows exploded view of pump. I can?t get pump body (31 in fig fo87) and mounting housing (5) to split apart. The cap screws/bolts are all removed. All the components between the body and housing ( pump shaft, bearings, etc.) are still together and inside the housing and pump body.

What would hold this together how does this section come apart?

Winter project and not able to switch to piston pump at this time. Thank you in advance for your help.

There is couple orings that seal center section and after 65-66 years they stick pretty good. Make note of witch way arrow is pointing. There is several vanes, one edge is round and other is square. Round goes out. Outer ring will be wavy in opposite sides , Ends and rotor proably scored. Put bolts back in loose and whack with hammer.

Thanks Shaun,
I have the center section/ring for rotor, rotor and vanes etc. removed/apart. What I can?t get apart is the pump body and everything going towards the large drive gear and the housing that holds this gear. Do i need to somehow remove the gear to get housing away from bearings, shaft, etc? Not sure what holds shaft inside. In meantime I am reviewing manual exploded view for any ideas.

Where tack cable screws on that part screws out and then should be slotted screw. unscrew and shaft should come out , if not use big punch to push shaft out.

Thanks again, Shaun.
I will remove from tach cable end. Had not tried to break slotted part free. From manual it looked like it needed to be removed but I was not sure.
New o-rings, bearings, seal ordered. Was starting to leak a bit but was still functioning. Vanes and rotor, etc. look pretty good. Hope to squeeze some more use out if it.
