I bought a 2008 New Holland this last spring and am , or was happy with it, the hydraulics were a little weak, but it did ok, last week it wouldnt move, squeeled some and then
nothing. I added some oil that came with it, hydraulic oil, and after it sat it seemed ok, I got it out to plow some snow and it didnt want to move, I let it warm up and it did, but
soon after it wouldnt do anything, after letting it sit I got it back in the barn, any idea will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading
 
It was a little lighter tan, I changed the filter last summer and the oil was clean then, I see in the manual there is a filter for the HST and also for the hydraulics. I was told
it had an external pump, but I dont see it. I will change the oil in the transmission. but it wont do a thing at times,
 

Your hydraulics need adequate pressure to work. Pressure is retained within the system by seals and is developed by the hydraulic pump and regulated by a pressure regulator and directed by various valves. This is common to virtually all hydraulic equipment. If you had a shop manual it would tell you to make some pressure checks at various points in order to determine exactly where your problem lies. Many modern tractors have onboard electronic diagnostics that are used to help diagnose problems. My 1996 Ford 8240 told me exactly what seal in the transmission was leaking. If you are looking to make a strong effort to take care of this yourself you will need the NH shop repair manual.
 
I ordered a repair manual,only to discover it just covered the front axle assm. The one I did see that covered all of the tractor was close to $400.
