NAA quits running after 5 minutes

This NAA runs very well. Starts within seconds; has electronic ignition. Idles smoothly at 700 RPM. Purrs at WOT. But after running for five minutes, it put-puts and then quits. Seems as if it has run out of gas. Seems like a fuel problem. Have drained the tank, it is clean. Pulled the shut-off valve and the screen is clean. Fuel line is unobstructed. Little screen filter at carburetor is clean. Five minutes after it has quit, fires right up again and runs for another five minutes. Any ideas? Almost seems temp related. Never does get up to operating temp, because it doesn’t run that long. Thanks for your thoughts.

In answer to your questions: Gas cap vents okay. Still a 6V system. Strong spark when it quit. But the gas flow test shows the problem. Plenty of flow from the tank to the carb, but pulling the plug from the carb, doesn't come near a pint in 3 minutes. About half that. So, we pull the carb and clean it. THANK YOU Guys.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a needle and seat or float adjustment problem. Let us know if you solved it.

You need to do two tests. First, pull the plug at the bottom of the carbruater and see if it will fill a pint jar in 2 or 3 minutes. If so then you don't have a fuel flow problem. Second, when the tractor starts acting up, and quits, immediately pull the coil wire from the distributor cap and hold it a good 1/4 inch from a clean spot on the block and with the key still on crank the engine. You need so see if you are getting a good strong spark out of the coil. My guess is that you will not. But do these tests first, don't go out and start throwing parts at it. That can get expensive. If you do get a good fuel flow and a good spark let us know and we can go from there. By the way, you never said if this is an OEM 6 volt system, or a 12 volt conversion.

Check the tank filler cap vent and the needle valve for free movement.
