Ford 2000 3cyl diesel valve clerance

Hi. I need values for valve clerances on Ford 2000 1965, 3cyl diesel. Been all over the internet and cant find it. Thanks.

Dirk,

According to my I&T Shop Manual, the cold adjustment is .017 for intake valves and .021 for exhaust valves. At operating temperature, intake valves are .015 and .018 for exhaust valves.

The manual has two pictures showing which valves can be adjusted at TDC on the compression stroke of the number one piston and which valves can be adjusted at TDC of the number one piston on the exhaust stroke. I'd send you a picture of the picture, but I have no idea how to do that.

No distinction is made in the manual for gasoline versus diesel engines.

Good luck,

Dirk,

My Ford 2000 Service Manual says that .017 inches is the equivalent of 43 mm, and that .019 inches is the equivalent of 48 mm. Knowing nothing about
metric measurements, I can't say if that sounds reasonable or not.

Thank you guys!

I have set it to .41mm intake and .48mm exhaust on cold engine.

Can this measures be applied on Ford 4000, 1966, 3 cyl diesel?
