won't air up. Motor runs but no air. Seat is sitting all the way down. What's the best way to tackle this issue? Thanks!

Mine doesn't pump air whether I'm in it or not.
Don't think it's merely a cold weather issue.

Cold weather and mine, including new ones right out of the box, bleed down over time allowing the seat to bottom out and don't want to air up in the winter. Solution is to get out of the seat and pump it up to full up position, then adding more air, testing the tension and when firm, then sit on it and adjust accordingly. Once it warms up it works normal. I have been all over my original, had it out of the tractor, on the work bench, soapy water testing and all and no luck. I bought a new one, different brand but parts seemed to be of the same design...like a universal pumping system, just different frame, size, and bolt pattern, and was surprised to see a new one acting the same way telling me that if it has a leak, it's going to take submerging in a liquid which is impossible......I think!

Pull the seat all the way up and block it. Drop the bellows and start investigating,

I do not hear air. I'm wondering if there's a link between the motor and compressor. It was pumping and totally quit, like something locked up. Then a day or two two later the motor would run again but no air.

To be able to work on this thing or even see the compressor, I think I need to get it lifted somehow without the benefit of air.

Grab ahold of it and raise the seat until the scissors is fully extended. Have someone stick a 2x4 under the front corner of the seat pan. Unless there is a small pinhole in an air tube that causes a high velocity leak, you probably won’t hear air over the buzz of the compressor. If the compressor runs you probably have a damaged or disconnected line or a failed bag.

I am working on an air seat in a JD 6200 now . The new compressor and lines were over $450.00,plus the things are a pain to work on. Good Luck

A beanbag?

I don't know - I've never worked on one. Do you hear the motor passing air? If so, it could be as simple as a broken hose. Myself, I'd pull the curtain down and start looking.

Just leave it all the way down and pretend that you are driving a Petercar.
