Well, having trouble finding a head gasket that will fit my engine. Tractor sheetmetal says 801 Selecto, tranny is 5 speed and identifies as 850. So far I got one gasket with no holes for water jackets beside manifold. Next one has those, but bolt holes do not line up. How do I id this engine?

Has fuel pump on it. Had older diesel power unit that had plate over hole for fuel pump.

-Mine does not have pump but does have removeable cover. Head gasket is odd, not round like pistons, but oblong, sorta. This tractor was used at feed mill long time. Has loader with front pump and power steering.

It has power unit engine that was built sometime in or after 1976. D6JL 6015 A is a 1976 enginnering number for a gas block.

You may be looking for too close a fit. The 801 has a 172. Certainly the bolt holes need to line up but not necessarily the water jacket holes, because some water jacket holes passages go anywhere anyway.

well, the old gasket had them, and a buddy says he tried using gasket without them and engine ran hot. I took engine numbers to parts house and they id as 172 diesel. Not a deisel so that can't be right. We did find what looks to be exact from Clevite. I have no way to check numbers, but near the fuel pump cover on right side is D6 JL 6015A
